I saw and did a crap load today...

Westminster and Big Ben

Everything was in this area so I didn't have to do too much walking to get to each spot, it was all within eye sight. Westminster is used for the British parliament i think. Another thing is that this are is CROWDED. Trying to walk across the bridge to get a better view took alot longer than I thought. But it looks really neat cause most of the buildings you tend to see now are all brand new but Big Ben, and Westminster are both very old school. Every so often it will ring which sounds neat. I think that the clock only needs to be turned every 2 years but I can't remember.

London Eye
After that we got tickets for the London Eye, and river tour. The London Eye is enormous! Takes about 30min to go all the way around can't remember what the highest point is. Once at the highest point you could see for a long ways. So I took a bunch of pics from up there and spotted a few interesting places. Once I got back down I thought I probably would have been fine with not going up there and just saving money. But when in Rome. Or London in my case...

Thyme River- Tour
I am really glad I went on the tour because I learned alot about all the surround building that I would not have know otherwise. They told us about Westminster, and Big Ben, and a pub where Shakespeare's actors used to go. Some of the buildings were hanging right on the river, and the was alot of neat building and architecture. A globe building made out of glass, and oval-egg shaped glass building in the background. We went under a few bridges including London Bridge which looks really nice. One thing I remember about it is that back in the day it would raise and lower around twice a day. Now only once or twice a week.

Every building has some interesting story behind it, and the tour guide told us a bunch bout each one.

My last day in New York!
Statue of Liberty
Went to the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island. There wasn't much else other than the statue on the island but iam glad i went nonetheless. I probably took alot more pics then I really needed but w/e. Reading all the tidbits about the Statue was really interesting, and the history about it. Didn't get to go on the pedestal cause I think it was extra money, and it was probably closed. Got a quick hotdog, and a drink then when i was done mulling around I took the ferry to Ellis Island.

Ellis Island
There was alot more stuff to see, hear, and read here. IT was used as a immigration gate to America. So I went through the whole building a saw what it would have been like for immigrants to go through here, or get turned away. There was graffiti on the wall from people that had to spend a extended amount of time there. They had to do all kinds of test to get through. Physical test, mental test, health tests ect. It was really interesting to go through a mock process of what the immigrants went through, and knowing that all this happened exactly where you were standing. I probably should have gotten the audio tour but owell.
-----
Eventually I took the ferry back to the harbor and head on my way to meet Jordan, and Nicolai. Didnt really do much with them cause understandable they were tired from the flight, and jet lag. Leave for London tomorrow!

*This of a random collection of thoughts. Some things I may have forgotten to add. This is more of a rough collection of thoughts on the day than a through journal. I have been writing down some keywords, and places to remind me to include them. I will probably re-write this every now and then until it is too my pleasing.

Airport/Taxi
Finally in London! Went through a long line of security and a very big airport. I watched a documentary on the airport and what goes on behind the scenes is amazing. Security gave me little bit of a hard time getting through but eventually I made it. Finally met up with Nick and then we made our way to the hostel by taxi which was cool cause the taxi's are a lot different then what we have back home. But expensive!! About an hour later we got to the hostel.

Hostel

Finally arrived at the hostel! There is about 3 other people in our dorm. I will later find out that apparently we got the good room. 2 bunk beds, bathroom, shower, oven thingy, stove, sink, window, lockers. I didn't really check out the Kitchen downstairs. It was late so we didn't really get a chance to go out and check anything. But there was a few stores and shops close by so we got a few snacks then went to bed.
